Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using ConvertToKindle ("the Service") at converttokindle.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you may not use the Service.
Description of Service
ConvertToKindle is a free, browser-based tool that helps users prepare EPUB files for use with Amazon Kindle devices and applications. The Service parses EPUB files, displays metadata, allows metadata editing, and re-packages files — all within your web browser. No files are uploaded to our servers.
Use of the Service
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use the Service to process files you do not have the legal right to possess or modify
- Attempt to circumvent any digital rights management (DRM) protections
- Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the website
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service in a manner that exceeds reasonable use
Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, text, and graphics, is owned by ConvertToKindle and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our express written permission.
E-book files you process with the Service remain your property (or the property of their respective rights holders). We claim no ownership over any files you process.
Copyright and DRM
ConvertToKindle is designed for use with DRM-free EPUB files that you have the legal right to possess and modify. The Service does not remove, bypass, or circumvent any form of digital rights management (DRM) protection.
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of EPUB files complies with applicable copyright laws and the terms under which you obtained the files.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Accuracy or reliability of results
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
We do not guarantee that processed EPUB files will work perfectly on all Kindle devices or applications. Results may vary depending on the source file quality, Kindle device model, and firmware version.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ConvertToKindle and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Since all file processing occurs in your browser, we are not responsible for any data loss resulting from browser crashes, device issues, or user error during processing.
Third-Party Content
The Service may contain links to third-party websites and services (such as Amazon.com). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of service of any third-party sites.
The Service may display advertisements from third-party ad networks. We are not responsible for the content of these advertisements.
Modifications to the Service
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time by posting the updated version on this page. Changes take effect immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
